Dr. de la Fuente’s broad knowledge has permitted her to expand her research and extension programs with UCCE to address critical concerns of agricultural and horticultural clientele and contribute to their economic development. She delivers workshops around the state on integrated pest management, soil management, green waste utilization through composting, diversified farming systems that include mushroom production, and programs that support long-term profitability and sustainability for the growers and the community at large.With the support of American Mushroom Institute and the Mushroom Council, she developed and taught curricula for white mushroom (Agaricus spp) production and specialty mushroom production(many species).
